You FIRST contact the Uniform Code Council at 1-937-435-3870 for an application. This organization monitors the UPC program and assigns and tracks the numbers.

Why Thermal Technology for Bar Code Printers over Dot Matrix, Laser or Ink Jet Printers?

In addition to producing a label with higher resolution, thermal printers are far more suited for use in a manufacturing or distribution environment. They are rugged, reliable and far less sensitive than other types of printers.

Direct Thermal labeling offers some cost savings over Thermal Transfer Labeling. There are applications where Direct Thermal Labeling is an option.

What is RFID?

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) uses radio frequencies to transmit data between a tag and a reader. RFID technology is being globally embraced by many corporations for the many applications which it can be used, like inventory management, asset control, livestock identification, patient identification, etc. RFID offers several advantages over traditional bar coding systems. Because RFID is not an optical technology like bar coding, no inherent line of sight (LOS) is required between the reader and the tagged RFID object

What is EPC?

Electronic Product Code: A serial, created by the Auto-ID Center, that will complement barcodes. The EPC has digits to identify the manufacturer, product category and the individual item.
